09.00 – 09.30: Wait in your hotel lobby for the English-speaking tour guide, who will help to load your luggage onto the bus. The drive to Tuan Chau follows, where we will learn about the culture of Halong while watching typically gorgeous Vietnamese scenery out of the window.

11.30 – 12.00: We arrive at the Genesis Regal Cruise waiting lounge and relax as the boat makes its final preparations. Once ready, we will board the ship and your luxury overnight Lan Ha Bay tour officially begins.

12.40: Head to the restaurant for your first delicious meal of local flavours and western-inspired fusions. Sit back for the early afternoon and take in the views of forested mountains of limestone jutting upwards from the emerald sea.

14.10 – 15.10: The Genesis Regal Cruise makes it first stop at Cat Ba Island, by far the largest and most naturally blessed in the whole Halong area. We take a short transfer to one of the caves here, where the guide will explain some of the fascinating features of Halong’s incredible and ancient geology.

16.00: After some more time spent relaxing on board, we will pull up to the Dark and Bright Caves, where each passenger can choose between a self-powered kayak or a serene ride in a sampan boat. We have about an hour here to explore the gorgeous Dark Cave and its phenomenal lake hidden at the back.

17.00: The daytime draws to a close as we head towards our overnight anchorage area. Here we can swim or simply relax on the sundeck with happy hour in progress. Take in the glorious sunset from here or in your cabin – Lan Ha Bay is considered one of the finest places in Asia to watch this majestic spectacle unfold.

A cooking class will provide you with an appetite for dinner by showing you how to create a classic Vietnamese dish before you have a go yourself.

19.30: Dinner follows this quickly afterwards. This is a luxury service of both Vietnamese and Western dishes served in a royal and romantic atmosphere.

21.00: Spend time as you wish as your 2-day Lan Ha Bay cruise enters its magical evening hours. You could relax with a film, at our tea session or by simply experiencing the tranquility of nighttime Lan Ha on the sundeck or your private balcony.

06.30: Experience the magic of dawn in Lan Ha Bay with a tai chi session on the sundeck. This is a beginners' class taught by a professional teacher.

07.30: A nutritious and light breakfast is served downstairs in the dining room as we set sail for the final day.

08.30: We take some time in the morning to visit a local floating house - Tra Bau Floating and its long-term residents. We will enjoy snacks in this unique and beautiful setting while hearing first-hand of how life operates for Lan Ha's small population.

09.30 – 10.30: Head back to the Genesis Regal Cruise for the final time as we tuck into a brunch buffet that will fill us up for the trip back to Hanoi.

11.45: We arrive back at Tuan Chau Harbor and wave goodbye to the fabulous crew. The bus will take us back to Hanoi from here and we will drop you off at your hotel in the capital.

09.00 – 09.30: If booked onto our shuttle bus, the tour will begin at your hotel in Hanoi’s Old Quarter. The guide will collect you and we will start our journey across the highway to Tuan Chau Harbor.

11.30 – 12.00: Once at the harbor, you will be able to relax and board the Genesis Regal Cruise. Explore you new floating home for the following 3-day cruise around Lan Ha Bay.

12.40: After making yourself comfortable, head to the restaurant for your first of many delicious meals. Taste the gorgeous flavors of Lan Ha and beyond as we begin our cruising through the monumental limestone towers that frame the bay’s splendid canals.

14.10 – 15.10: We make our first stop at Cat Ba Island in the early afternoon. This UNESCO Biosphere Reserve is the best encapsulation of the gorgeous scenery of the Halong area, something that we will discover on a walk around one of the island's magnificent limestone caves.

16.00: Relax back on the ship as we make our way to the Dark and Bright Caves (Get More Detail), two twin systems of underwater caverns. Passengers can choose between kayaking through the caves or taking a sampan boat rowed by a local. Through both methods, passengers will be able to explore a gorgeous corridor of water that ends with an enclosed lake bordered by streaked, limestone cliffs.

17.00: We return to the Genesis Regal Cruise for the last time and head to the overnight sleeping area. Here, we can swim around the boat or simply relax on the sundeck, where happy hour and a cooking class led by our chef will be in progress.

19.30: Relish the beautiful dinner of local and Western styles served in the restaurant. Be sure to savour the atmosphere of the glistening water outside as the first night of our 2-night Lan Ha Bay cruise begins.

21.00: Finish the night with relaxation at your leisure. There will be chess, films or the chance to try a spot of squid fishing before you retire to your luxury cabin.

06.30: Experience the magical morning atmosphere of Halong Bay on the sundeck, where a professional tai chi teacher will be instructing beginners on how to benefit from this ancient martial art.

07.30: Enjoy your Western-style breakfast in the restaurant before transferring to the day boat for a more intimate exploration of Lan Ha Bay. Relax for the early morning as our boat takes a quiet, mountain-lined route to Cat Ba Island.

10.00 – 12.00: We arrive at a port of Cat Ba Island and transfer to the village of Viet Hai. This is a beautifully ancient commune with bamboo houses that have stood for generations. Their beauty is matched in the surrounding rice paddies and jungle, which we will cycle through in search of some of Lan Ha's most picturesque scenery.

12.00 – 13.00: We cycle back to the port and climb back aboard the day boat. We will have a fabulous lunch as our luxury 3-day Lan Ha Bay cruise proceeds slowly towards the next destination.

14.00 – 16.00: We arrive at the area of Ba Trai Dao and take some time in the mid-afternoon here. Relish the more free feel to the tour as you and just a handful of fellow passengers swim and kayak around the white-sand beach, taking the chance to sunbathe in the shadow of the karst rocks behind.

17.30: Rejoining the Genesis Regal Cruise, we settle back into another late afternoon of relaxation, happy hour and a cooking class on the sundeck, all in the beautiful glow of a vivid red sunset.

19.30: Another gorgeous dinner will precede another evening of pure relaxation. Find this on the sundeck, in your cabin or at the spa centre, where our professional masseuses will lull you to an early sleep.

06.30: Rise early once again to greet the morning sun with tai chi on the sundeck.

07.30: A light breakfast is served in the restaurant as we sail over to our final destination on this luxury 2-night cruise around Lan Ha Bay’s astounding seascape.

08.30: Our last stop is a very unique and interesting one. We will enter the floating house of a local family who have lived in the bay for generations - Tra Bau Floating. We will hear about their fascinating lifestyles as they make a living in the waters of Lan Ha.

09.30 – 10.30: Enjoy a wonderful brunch once we have boarded the Genesis Regal Cruise again. Soak up the final few hours of gorgeous atmosphere as we approach Tuan Chau Harbour.

11.45: We arrive at the harbour and step off the cruise. Board the bus after this and take the swift transfer to the capital, where we will drop you off at your hotel in the centre.
