What a great cruise we’ve just come back from!We knew we were in good hands when we met the smiling crew, but especially Zo, who was super nice to us the whole time. The first cave was a bit of a disappointment so we almost skipped the second one, but this one was completely different as you sail through the water on a boat and come out on the other side on an enclosed lake. So magical! We took full advantage of the kayaks and went exploring around for a bit before heading back to the boat. It was very nice to be out on our own in Halong Bay.Food was excellent and the cabins were cute and comfy. Wonderful cruise!

MalaysiaWe got a beautiful Deluxe cabin suite with the Syrena cruise. But it started well even before this with the pick up, which was perfectly on time. There’s a little bit of wear and tear on the boat but this shouldn’t detract too much from its overall beauty or the beauty of the bay outside. Good sized rooms and large ensuite, with a balcony that gave us great views.Good stop at the Amazing Cave with all of its crazy lights. We then went back to the boat and headed to Titop Island, where we hiked to the top of the island and took pictures of the whole of the bay below us. We went back to the boat after this but I felt like we could have maybe engaged in more of the activities.Good food but it didn’t blow our minds. Maybe because we took the alternative dishes because we don’t eat beef or pork. We did appreciate the effort by the staff to produce a completely different meal just for us though.A pleasant cruise in the end and one that I’m very glad I did. It was an easy booking and we were looked after well the whole time we were there.

CanadaWe did the full 3 dayer around Halong Bay with Syrena and had a very nice visit overall, Bus driver was a bit of a maniac on the way there but I’m not sure how much of this is him and how much of it is usual Vietnamese road behaviour. We had a nice buffet once we boarded and we set off into the bay. We found Titop Island to be too touristy and not the relaxing time it was made out to be. Luckily we got back for happy hour and a fantastic sunset, which already made coming to Halong Bay worthwhile. The dinner and evening entertainment confirmed this.I rose early on the second day an enjoyed the sunrise all to myself. We had breakfast and headed out on the day boat, which left the main attractions to discover the quieter parts of the bay. In a way, I’m glad for the lack of waterproof bags, as it meant I left all my electronics on the day boat when we went out kayaking and fully enjoyed the moment instead of posing 100 times for the ultimate selfie. Great and very relaxed day overall.Just about time on the third day for a ride through the cave, but it was amazing. We came out on the other side to some emerald waters and cliffs, with monkeys swinging around the treetops. Beautiful.I was very impressed with the Syrena overall but I do wish that more could be done to quell the flow of plastic in the bay, which is not only ruining the appealing sight of the bay, but also destroying ecosystems and the lives of people and animals who depend on them.

AustraliaSuch a good cruise, but I’d say it is a must to do the three day itinerary. We spent the entire 2nd day on the day boat, which was really wonderful. We had a lot of fun cruising, fishing, visiting caves and swimming in the bay and just sitting on the sundeck to take it all in. Can’t fault much to be honest. The service was great, the meals were very and the cooking class was very entertaining with lots of people involved. There was a good ambience after dinner when lots of people met other people and we sort of melded into one big group. Absolutely zero noise when sleeping and no swaying with the water whatsoever. It was very impressive and experience I’d be happy to try again!

NewZealandA big fan of this cruise I went on with Syrena. I thought it was exceptionally well run and well carried out by Thuy, our lovely tour guide who took us to caves and the beach. She was super friendly and always there to help.I had some reservations about going initially because I thought I might get sea sick on the cruise. No such dice though – the boat was essentially rock solid while we were cruising or moored in the water. We had a very special view available from the cabins and other places around the ship. Certainly can’t complain about the amount of food eiher, which was great. We had a few buffet meals and a set-menu one. I’ll be coming back to this cruise in the future and I highly recommend you do too. Mint as!
